Why Royal Caribbean Has Something for Everyone
If you know me, you know I love cruising, and Royal Caribbean is a product that I think is super, super fun.
For the latest episode of Talk Travel with Samantha, I sat down with my good friend Kirk Debold, Strategic Account Manager with Royal Caribbean International, to talk about all the goodness that Royal Caribbean offers cruisers.
And there is A LOT.
There Really Is Something for Everyone
One of the things I love about Royal Caribbean is that there is not one size fits all.
Yes, Royal is known for those HUGE ships that immediately get your attention, but they actually have seven different classes of ships, ranging from around 2,100 guests all the way up to 7,500 guests.
I love the bigger ships because you don't get bored on them. On Oasis Class, there can be 71 activities to do in a single day, and Icon Class has 73!
If you can't find something to do, maybe cruising isn't for you.
But if the mega ships aren't your thing, Royal has smaller, classic ships too. There really is a range and something for everyone.
Royal Caribbean Right in Our Backyard
Living in Florida, we are incredibly lucky with how many Royal Caribbean options we have right here in our backyard.
You can combine a trip to the Orlando theme parks with a three or four night cruise, or just sneak away for a long weekend. Utopia of the Seas is right out of Port Canaveral doing three and four night sailings, which makes it so easy to add a little "Vitamin Sea" without committing to a full week.
And these shorter cruises are giving you access to some AMAZING ships.
The Royal Caribbean Beach Clubs
This was one of my favorite parts of our conversation because I am DYING to get to the Royal Beach Club.
Royal Caribbean's beach clubs are exclusive to Royal Caribbean and Celebrity guests, and they're all-inclusive. That means all you can eat and all you can drink.
The Nassau beach club even has different areas depending on what kind of day you want. There's a family beach, Paradise Beach for a more adult vibe, and right in the middle is the world's largest swim-up bar, the Floating Flamingo.
What?!
And if the party isn't your scene, you can go to one of the other areas and completely change the vibe.
Perfect Day at CocoCay
Of course, we also had to talk about Perfect Day at CocoCay.
This is truly a destination in itself.
You can absolutely have an amazing day without spending extra money, or you can add experiences like the adults-only Hideaway Beach, Coco Beach Club and its overwater cabanas, or the water park.
There are trams to take you everywhere, food all over the island, and if you have the drink package, your drinks are included on the island too.
And I still think some of the best brownies on the planet are on that island.
Families Are Not Forgotten
Royal Caribbean is truly a multigenerational brand.
Their Adventure Ocean Kids Club is a STEM-based program, so kids are being educated and having fun at the same time. As Kirk said, "kids come off smarter off of our cruises."
Whereas my drink package makes me come off a little bit dumber.
But seriously, if you're traveling as a family and thinking, "We need some alone time," the kids club can be the perfect way for everyone to enjoy their vacation.
Legend of the Seas Is Coming
And yes, there is another exciting ship to talk about!
Legend of the Seas is coming to Fort Lauderdale and will offer six-night Eastern Caribbean and eight-night Southern Caribbean sailings, including itineraries to the ABC islands.
I LOVE the ABCs.
Legend will also feature Charlie and the Chocolate Factory onboard, and I cannot wait to sail on her.
